CARE OF YOUR SOAP

Congratulations!
I
f you are new to handmade soap,
your purchase is about to introduce you to a whole new experience in healthy personal care.

Your bar of Log Cabin Soap is good for your skin and will last a long time. Here are some useful tips and pieces of information about handmade soaps:

SHELF LIFE - because I make my handmade soaps without preservatives, they are best used within about 1 year.

FRAGRANCE - over time, the fragrance will dissipate. Citrus essential oils are especially prone to this, while fragrance oils will last longest. Once you begin to use a bar, the scent still remaining deeper inside will emerge while you lather up.

STORAGE - I recommend you keep different varieties of soap separate from each other, in order to maintain the integrity of the fragrances. A soap can be kept in your sock drawer or linen closet lightly wrapped in tissue. It will scent those areas until you are ready to use it in the shower. Alternatively, soaps can be stored in a ziploc bag to help keep the scents from fading and to keep different varieties from all smelling like each other.

IN USE - please keep your Log Cabin Soap on an appropriate soap dish. This will keep it firm and dry and easy to handle. Next to the sink, I recommend an unfinished wood soap dish. They are easy to keep clean with an occasional scrubbing and look naturally attractive. In the shower, I recommend keeping your soap sitting on top of a slice of loofah. This drains well and also serves as a body sponge. Loofahs should be replaced every couple of months.
